A Great Tip for Test Driving

The test drive is always a fun experience for me. A chance to punch the gas and see how well the car handles. A commonly used sales tool in the industry is the "All-Day" test drive. It works quite well actually. You take it home or to work and you get that new car feeling where everyone says "OOOOOHHH. You got a new car!!". The euphoric sensation of self-worth. Thus giving you the thoughts that you just have to buy it now.

I suggest that you use this so-called "sales" tool to your advantage though. Let your friends sit in the driver's seat and press all of the buttons. Show it to everyone you know and let them pick out the problems/benefits of the vehicle. Remember, you are blinded by the "new car feeling". Your friends may notice that the interior panel on the passenger side back door is loose, or that there is some kind of black mark on the kick panel, or "What's that sound?".

So remember, remember the old adage: "Two heads are better than one". And turn that "sales" tool into a "buying" tool.

Just a safe driving tip for everyone today as I just got back from a 6 hr round trip road trip. I have sort of a pet peeve as I drive on the interstate: driving slow in the passing lane. Number one, this is the suggestion of the Transportation Department in most states. You will almost always see white signs that state "Slower Traffic Keep Right". You should utilize the left lane to pass someone going slower than you. It is not a cruising lane as the right lane is.

Chrysler to offer LIDAR technology as an option in 2007

Chrysler will offer an adaptive cruise control system in the 2007 Chrysler 300 Limited and 300C models. The system will use LIDAR, or in layman's terms, radar using light, to assist the driver in staying a safe distance from surrounding vehicles. No word yet on the potential cost of the option.

Chrysler is offering a sweet deal these days. If you trade in a Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, or Ford Fusion on a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler will give you $1000 cash. The offer is good through November 30th and there is one stipulation: you must be leasing the trade-in. So there goes my visit to the junkyard this weekend.
